Moneywort (Bacopa Monierri)

This species of Bacopa is similar to Bacopa Caroliniana, but typically presents leaves that are narrower at the base and wider towards the ends. We also find that it branches more readily. Moneywort is an excellent beginner plant. It does not require CO2 and It is also slower growing than most stem plants. This means you don’t have to trim this plant as often. A basic planted tank setup should give you success with this species provided you have medium light and nutrients available within the water column. We recommend providing a nice balanced liquid fertilizer and if possible a nutrient rich substrate or root tabs.

Moneywort is native to parts of the United States and ours is grown in house!

Photos shown are for illustration purposes only. Plants vary in size.

Tips:

- Plant each stem deep into the substrate to allow roots to develop and anchor the plant.

- Once anchored, cut the stems to encourage a more bushy appearance, or let them grow tall to create a beautiful backdrop in any aquarium.

- Whenever you cut this plant as mentioned above, make sure to replant the cut portions. This will allow you to propagate this species quickly!

- You can also grow this plant floating. When grown this way it can grow into a floating mat with leaves that can extend above the water under the right conditions.
