Water Wisteria is one of those plants that is synonymous with planted aquariums. This species has been a staple in the hobby for decades. It can be floated but we find that it does best when planted in the substrate. Wisteria is a great option for low tech tanks looking for an introduction to stem plants. It gets big though, so make sure you give this plant space to grow in!
Our Water Wisteria is grown in house!
Photos shown are for illustration purposes only. Plants vary in size and leaf morphology.
- Plant each stem deep into the substrate to allow roots to develop and anchor the plant.
- Once anchored, cut the stems to encourage a more bushy appearance, or let them grow tall to create a beautiful backdrop in any aquarium.
- Whenever you cut this plant as mentioned above, make sure to replant the cut portions. This will allow you to propagate this species quickly!
